Brief Description: Rudder skeleton prep and priming
Not a great deal of work completed today, but managed to get a few things done and a bit of prep ready for tomorrows riveting. The new primer showed up, as well as a few supplies (tools and paint prep items)
Spent the morning working on the rudder skeleton, I fabricated the R717 and 716 pieces, trimmed R710 and edge finished all items, I then completed a few steps on the spar prep, still more work to go.
Additionally I sanded back the right horizontal stab prime (the job I wasn’t happy about) to a nice finish, I then cleaned the surface thoroughly and then laid down a few coats of paint. I was very happy with the result, managed to get a nice coat down and a uniform wet coat down that smoothed out amazingly. Additionally I primed all of the stiffeners on the left hand side of the rudder. I will mark them and then prime the rudder skin and right hand side stiffeners tomorrow.
