Where to put it? I tried all over the place. Best place for me was to put two stringers across the bottom of the forward fuselage sub panel ribs. Then center the VPX Pro behind the recessed firewall insert starting about 3 inches aft of the firewall. I fabricated some 063 angle for the stringers plus replaced the two attach angles included in the kit. From above you see the black, not red, side. The attach angles with the VPX 6-32 screws attached, lays down on top of the two stringer angles, sort of suspending the VPX between the stringers with the VPX angles overlapping the stringers. Installed 4 nutplates (K1000-08) and secured the VPX down tight from underneath. To remove, you would disconnect the power line, remove the 4 screws, lift the VPX up, tilt it and slide it down between the two stringers. I'll leave a loop in the wiring to let it come down with wiring attached for working on it right there, or disconnect and take it out.

Best fit overall. The stringers may also hold remote transponder, EMS module, etc.

VPX ''slides'' on top of stringers and can't fall through.

Attach screws are held in place between the two stringers and can't come out. See the gap.
