Brief Description:  Preparing the Fuel Tank Ribs

At least the parts boxes are getting easier to go through to find the necessary parts. The tank consists of 6 ribs. The 4 inside ribs need several holes in them. The 1.5 inch holes are for fuel flow within the tank. The one in the bottom left corner should be a low as can be cut so all useable fuel can flow through those on the way to the fuel pickup tube. I later used a dremel stone to file the opening closer to the bottom rib flange. The one 1.5 in hole in the ''middle'' of the circle allows fuel to quickly flow to the next chamber when filling your tank. There are two 1/4 inch vent holes dilled in each inside rib in what would be the ''top'' of the fuel tank so air can move. The locations are given on the plans. Then, there is a 7/16 inch hole (to the right of the upper ''circle'' in the photos below). A bushing will go in each of the 4 ribs there to support a tube soon.
The inside rib closest to the fuselage gets much work done on it. I am still looking for the parts for that one. I also practiced fitting the skin on the rear fuel tank baffle while it sat on the spar to see how the fit goes. It goes good. I wll now go make two cradles to hold the tank and also the leading edge for riveting later.
