Brief Description:  Left Wing #38 - installed flap - DONE W/WING

Removed all the cleckos holding the wing side of the flap hinge on. Carefully drilled out the 8 keeper rivets I had installed to hold the flap brace to the wing skin while fitting the flap. Reinstalled the hinge with cleckos and drilled the 8 keeper holes into the hinge. Took it apart again and deburred everything and countersunk the 8 holes for rivets on the top side. Once again cleckoed it all back together and enlisted Payden's help. I would pull a clecko, then he would put a rivet in the hole, take the cleko from the pliers and put it bucket, and then "monitor" everything while I squeezed the rivet. Then he would tell me which clecko to pull next. We did this 53 times and had a blast.

Once the hinge was riveted on, I located the spot for securing the hinge pins and drilled a #19 hole in the flap brace. Installed a nutplate on the backside using some blind rivets and used some cut up hinge eyelets to secure the pins. Turned out great! Much cleaner than what the plans call for. They tell you drill some holes in the brace and secure the pins with safety wire. I like my installation much better.

Removed the aileron bellcrank jig and tacked on the inspection panel over the bellcrank bay. I'll leave the pitot mast cleckoed in until I get the Dynon heated Pitot/AOA probe, then install it all then. Removed all the blue protective plastic. The LEFT WING IS DONE and ready to be put in the wing storage cradle! I'll have to do some rearranging of junk in the garage and go enlist the neighbor's help to lift the wing. Time to start on the right wing!
