Brief Description:  Left Wing #21 - top outboard skin/ran conduit

Dan Flenar (Retired USAF CMSgt) came over today to help rivet the top outboard skin on the left wing. He did a great job on the rivet gun. When we were all done, there was only one rivet I wasn't happy with, and in drilling it out I almost gobbed up the works. I took the manufactured head off and started hitting it with a punch and hammer. About the 3rd smack I thought that it didn't feel right. That's when I discoved the rivet I was trying to remove was stuck in a rear spar doubler plate and I was pushing the doubler plate off the rear spar instead of knocking the rivet out. Luckily, I was able to get the plate mostly bent back in place and the new rivet sucked it in good.

I then pulled the conduit material from Van's through the wing...boy does that make a racket. Every groove that ended up in a rib got a nice bead of RTV around it. I also routed the AOA and Pitot lines. I re-routed them above the whole aileron bellcranck assembly in that bay. For some reason I was under the impression that the pitot mast from SAFEAIR1 was to be installed in the bay inboard from the bellcrank assembly. But then when I reviewed the installation instructions, I realized it's supposed to be mounted on the next bay outboard. So I had to get a unibit out and punch a few holes in some ribs to route the lines well away from the bellcrank assembly.

This was a fun day.
