Began work on the left fuel tank z-brackets. After reading Van's instructions and the alternate method devised by Dan Checkoway (www.rvproject.com), I decided Dan's method was a much better process for ensuring proper fit.
Located and drilled the center #12 holes on all the z-brackets. Used spare hardware and bolted the brackets onto the spar and squared them up. Backdrilled the remaining holes through spar into the z-brackets. Deburred the holes. Took 3 nutplates and ran a tap through them so the bolt goes in easy, then bolted the nutplates to the bracket and backdrilled the holes for installing the nutplates into the brackets.
