Brief Description:  Deburred and dimpled rudder parts

Disassembled the rudder after match drilling, deburred all the holes and edges, and dimpled as much as I could. I'm at a point where I need to buy a new tool. I could not get the dimple dies, or the pop rivet dimpler in the aft four holes of the R-703 tip rib (as seen in image 2). So I need to call Avery up and order the close quarter dimpler they make out of a vise grip. I also discovered I need to buy a dimpler and countersink for #10 screws to install the lead counterweight. But I have some time to get those items.

This will be that last posting for awhile. I've put everything away, and I'm getting ready deploy with my unit to Iraq very soon. This will be my 8th deployment to the middle east in my 18+ year military career. It's never been easy leaving the wife behind. Then it got even more difficult when I started leaving kids behind. The good thing is that the Air Guard does things quite different than the Army Guard...I won't be gone near as long as those guys deploy for. I'll be back finishing up this empennage and ordering my wing kit in no time!!!
