Using the backing plate as a template, Dave and I match drilled the holes into the bottom of the fuselage. I think having the steps located as far outboard as possible will make boarding easier. To do so, I had to cut off the rear, outboard corner of the backing plate because there is no space in the corners inside the fuselage. We agreed that getting a nut on these bolts is going to be difficult. If necessary, we will move the bolt in just a bit when mounting. I think we will be able to hold the nut with a wrench as we tighten the bolt up and in.
