Ugh! Evidently, while floxing the hinge to the aileron, I didn't slide it far enough outboard. This resulted in the trim tab being too far inboard which caused two problems. First, the trim tab hits the aileron (photo 1). To fix this, I removed about 3/8" from the aileron which provides 1/4" clearance on the edge of the trim tab. The second problem is shown in photo 2. Now that the tab fits, it's too short. Thankfully, this is not an issue with plastic airplanes. I floxed a small wedge of FG board to the end of the trim tab and all will be right again. The only issue is that the hinge does not extend to the edge. This is purely cosmetic. I think I'll cut the hinge pin to end at the edge. I'd probably be the only one to ever notice, but now the cat's out of the bag.
While I had some extra flox, I closed in the tab and the aileron using foam board and flox.
