At first, I wasn't too concerned about the exact width of the flange because it is going to be covered by an inspection panel and never seen unless the inspection panel is removed. I've read that another builder has used clear plexi-glass so he can look through the inspection cover without removing it. I think that's a great idea and will probably do that. Since this is on the underside of the wing, the smoothness of the flange is not really a big deal, but I will see it every time I look through the plexi.
