Brief Description:  Brake line installation - Right

Installing the brake line to the wheel/brake is pretty straigh forward. Where to enter the fuselage hasn't changed from the manual directions, but the spar box has changed and that has led other builders to customize where the brake line enters the fuselage. I called Nick (designer) and he assured me that the proper location is still aft of the spar box and flap rod. This places the entry point farther back behind the gear, but Nick says the new fuselage/gear leg fairings will cover the fitting. Since Nick designed the plane and has built more than I have (like 50:1), I trust him. Because they are now farther behind the gear legs, there is not enough slack in the lines to wrap them around the legs. I think it's actually better because the lines are completely protected by the legs.

The second photo shows the Wide Area Washers I drilled out to install the fuselage brake line fitting. Not the best looking washers, but they will do the job and will never be seen. I first drilled them to 1/2", then to 5/8". Maunal doesnt have these, but I like a washer anywhere a nut contacts fiberglass. It spreads the load.
