While I was doing even more body work on the left wing, Dave fabricated anti-shimmy slats from some white oak I had in the shop. Dave is an accomplished woodworker, so this was in his wheelhouse.
The theory is that the wood will absorb any shimmy that occurs due to small misalignments in the main wheels.
First, he cut the oak to length, then cored the aft edge that will be floxed to the main gear and finally rounded over the leading edge so they would fit inside the leg pants.
