I've been putting this off because the process has changed quite a bit since the manual was written. The trim tab now comes in two pieces and dies not need to be cut out of the elevator. Actually, having now done this, it's probably much easier than before. However, because I've never done this before, I was quite nervous about just figuring it out.
Eventually, when I could postpone it no more, I used florist foam to form a wedge that was glassed over. So, the FG provides the structure and the foam was just a form. The tab tapers in thickness from inside to outside. This is why I used the foam. It's easily sanded to the correct shape.
The first step is to add the hinge to the elevator and the trim tab. Flox and epoxy here. Getting pretty comfortable with this process. To track time, I'll enter each step as I completed them.
