Activated ELT agian during flight testing. Per Dynon (thanks, Jeff), the transponder may be emiting a strong field around its harness or because it is mounted too closely to the ELT. Who knew? This issue is not mentioned in the physical location section of the Dynon transponder section of the installation manual.

the Earth X battery completely discharged during the first test flight of the day. I recharged using the Optimate Lithium Battery charger after the flight which entered into safe (recover) mode. The EatrhX is fully charged at 14.2 V. I have pictures from the first test flight of the day that show the voltage was 12.7 V, then 13 V, then 12.8 V. None of the pictures arter that show the voltage, but EarthX says that the battery is 90% depleted at 12.8 V and 95% depleted at 12.7V. After charging for a few hours, I began a second flight. I do not know exactly where the voltage was, but it turned over the engine with plenty of power. After a few minutes in the air, I noticed voltage was 12.5, so I headed for the ground. Immediately after rolling out (landing) the avionics shut down and I saw voltage go from 12.7 to 9.6, then out.

My working theory is that the battery was 12.8-12.9 at takeoff. The charger had switched from recover mode to charge mode indicating a voltage level above 12.9. In flight, I noticed voltage at 12.5. Did that prevented it from charging with the alternator? IDK, maybe. I'll fully charge it this time and monitor it closely during the next test flight. I will shed load and head for the ground if I notice voltage < 13.5. This will keep the voltage above recover mode, which charges VERY slowly.

Pattern speeds were better during the second flight of the day, but the electrical issues prevented sufficient testing.
