Epoxied a strip of 3" fiberglass tape over the PVC canoe. The PVC is not very thick, so I don't think there is enough surface area to use flox alone.
I'm guessing that the wind stream coming off of the canoe will become turbulent. Turbulence costs speed. So, I fabricated a fairing over the trim tab bracket from flox. My guess is that the lack of turbulence will make up for the 5 grams this flox fairing weighs. Of course, I have nothing on which to base that. I'll keep building this up untill the front part slips into the canoe when trim is down. I'm sure this will give me at least another tenth of a knot. Let's go fast!
