I could have used that grease tip when setting the height of the tank, The flox squeezed out and fused the tank to the underside of the wing. This is a problem. I could get the filler collar to unscrew from the tank flange, but the tank was stuck! That tank has to come out.
So,... I used a dremmel cut-off disk to cut through the flox. However, it didn't reach far enough. After trying several tools, I finally opened it up enough to get the reciprocating saw blade belween the wing skin and fuel tank and cut the last bit of epoxy flox. Thankfully, there is no damage to either the wing or tank. Whew!
Finally, I was able to flox a flange on the inside of the filler collar and set the tank aside (upside down) to dry.
