Brief Description: Put fire sleave on fuel lines, & install fuel tank
Vans just came out with a mod to keep the top of the tailcone from flexing where the ADAHRS is installed. The ADAHRS tells the panel if you are level or turning and alot of other information, it also has a built in compas.. A few of the planes had trouble with it flexing and causing problems with the information being sent to the panel. The unit was vibrating so the sensors inside could not give an accurate reading. Image 2 is the stiffener going sideways just in front of the white plastic lines coming out of the ADAHRS. Installed fire sleave over the fuel lines which protects them in case of a fire. Put the fuel tand back in place and put about a gallon of gas in. One fitting was leaking and tightened it. Will put more gas in during the week and maybe finish wiring the fuel pumps to make sure everything is good under pressure. Friends Roy and Jackie came over and inspected everything. It's good to have someone with experience go over it in case you forgot something. They said I should change the way one part is installed so I will take care of it tomorrow.
