Finished deburing all ribs, tank stiffeners, skin and mounting Z channels. I had already fluted the ribs so I started to assemble. Because the fuel tank skin is .032 thick, the ribs were a little more difficult to install then the left and right leading edge. While the design is very good, I wish they would find another way of making the tank without so many holes to seal. I have requested input from Vans Tech Support. I upgraded to the DELUXE fuel cap which is loads better looking then the standard cap and it locks. Some builders have machined the surface so that it fits inside the wing tank better, but I think the design fits the contour of the tank just fine. I have requested input as to any "special" considerations when installing this type of tank cap. Should hear back by Tuesday. All fuel tank parts will be treated with Alumiprep and alodine but will not be painted.
