Brief Description:  Left wing, top skin, drilling for rivets.

After spending the better part of yesterday marking and drilling the 3/32 pilot holes for the top skin, today I repositioned the framework onto the work table , set it up square, checked diagonal measurements, set up the 'Wash out", by placing the 16mm block under the rear spar at the wing tip and supported the rear spar to prevent sag. Lots of double checking.

I then placed the to skin into position, clamped in place, set up a couple of hair dryers blowing hot air inside to heat & expand the skin, then starting in the centre, and working out, started drilling the 1/8 rivet holes through the pilot holes. Not enough 1/8 clekos !!

Back straining work!

Not entirely happy with the inevidable oil canning effect in the top skin because of the wash out lifting of the rear spar. This could have been somewhat deminished by not fitting a one piece skin.
