After a break for the Christmas season, we got back at it with a full power run up.Family members came out for this event. We had to shovel snow and scrap ice off of the taxiway and in front of the hangar but we finally found a spot of bare pavement to conduct this test. For back up we attached the tail wheel leg to a large fence post using a tow strap. We ran the engine for a total of 5 minutes, allowing the engine to warm up gradually at 1200, 1400 and 1800RPM before we went max power, which turned out to be about 2060 RPM (static) The number 3 and 4 cyclinders started to get hot so we had to shut down the engine after a brief cool down. We are a little concerned about the engine possibly not developing enough RPM at full power.
