Brief Description: Horizontal Stab and Vertical Stab Attach

Rechecked all rivets in both Horizontal Stab and Vertical Stab in preparation for MD-RA Inspection. Machine countersank E-1023's Elevator Trailing Edge wedges. Final drilled and deburred VS-1016 to HS-1002. Attached previously fabricated F-1098 shims to HS-1008-L and R Horizontal Spar Attachment Brackets with carpet tape. Placed Horizontal Stab in position, mounted and match drilled HS-1003 Rear Spar to F-1011C Horizontal Stab Attachment Bars and added hardware as shown. Clamped wood spacer block between HS-1008-L and R and aft deck. Squared horizontal stab to tailcone and match drilled #12 holes to F-1098 Shims, F-1014 Aft Deck, F-1010B Spacer, and F-1010A Angle using the holes in the HS-1008 Attachment Brackets. Removed Horziontal Stab and deburred all holes, then reattached Horizontal Stab and VS-1016. Mounted Vertical Stab and final drilled #12 holes as shown. Removed Vertical Stab, deburred holes, countersank holes indicated and remounted stab. MD-RA Inspectors; Howard Parr and Norm Seiferling arrived and preformed a Sub-Assembly Inspection. No problems noted, however, did recommend that AN365 nuts at pivot points be replaced with AN310 nuts and cotter pins.
