Brief Description:  Wing rig COMPLETE!

An ENTIRE day was spent getting the rear spar carry through completed, disassembled, deburred, and reassembled. Once that was done it was riveted in place permanently. While I was riveting the angles in it started to downpour. All to common in NC, but this is aluminum and there was no lightning so I continued. My wife thought it was cute that I was getting poured on so she snapped some pictures. It was nice to keep cool. It was now time to move on to the main spar drilling that I have been dreading. It was really not that bad but it did a number on my body for sure. I got the holes drilled and I think it will be just dandy. Test fit the 3/8 bolts and they worked great. not much room for the nuts but it should be just enough. I also decided to put the doublers in place and use a compass to set the contour line for the finish edge. I used the outer hole to hold it in place while I used a 9/16" compass to scroll a line. I should be able to just cut on the line and end up with a smooth contour all set for a 1/16" gap. Finally I was able to disassemble everything, Put the wings back on the rack and put the bird back inside. A good cleanup and it was time to punch out.
