Brief Description: Horizontal Stab bolting, vertical mock up
I got the Horizontal tail bolted down even though my torque wrench only starts at 120 inch lbs and these bolts are supposed to be 50-70. I had to make a few trips to the aviation section of Lowes and Harbor Freight today, I needed a clamp for the stab before drilling and during my second trip to get a longer drill bit for the vertical stab (something I noted to do from an earlier step). Regardless I got the holes drilled, and the vertical all cleco'ed in and lined up. Tomorrow when I can open the garage without freezing to death I will make the final line up and maybe even drill the forward edge of the vertical spar. I am happy with my progress this week, I got an immense amount of work done and I am going to spend some time riding dirt bikes with my son tomorrow.
