Brief Description:  Continue AeroVee Engine Assembly

Continue AeroVee engine assembly.

Replace center camshaft bearing, the original has a small scratch in it, due to bulder carelessness !
My contribution to a non-elegant engine package

The new bearing is:
Mahle P/N 111 198 541

This bearing has only 1/2 of it flanged (thrust bearing), as opposed to the original, which had both halves flanged. I'll have to think on this, perhaps I should order cam bearings from Sonex to match the original.

Assemble crankshaft to crankcase, check rotation for interferrence. Sure enough, the connecting rods hit the camshaft. Grind off the corners of the offending connecting rods. This was somewhat expected since it is a stroker crank. Reminds me of my stock car racing days and running a stroker crank. Except with an airplane I do not have to worry about being busted in the tech inspection line post flight !!
