Brief Description:  First flight...

...First flight...The weather was clear and NE winds of 9-10. Paul and I arrived early to finish the cowl installation and fueling to 10 gals. each tank.Gale Derosier, my EAA technical counseler, and Capt. Bill Jagust, EAA flight counselor arrived as we were finishing. We briefed for one quick run to 40-50 mph and then to go for it. I powered up and away we go. Gale called at about 1000 feet to power back as she really wound up to 5400 rpm and I manually leaned the 10.1/1 air fuel ratio. Climbed to 3000 and circled, practiced slow flight, it got mushy approaching 60 clean and developed a good sink rate. Practiced 70-80 mph and half flaps which I used for landing. All that could, including my wife Gloria had arrived so let's go land.
