I am planning on using the McMaster door seal, so I began to prep the cabin top by removing the door opening flange return, using a cutoff wheel.

Using a 2" drum sander, sanded the reminder of the flange smooth with the door channel, per Ivan Kristiansen very helpful website.

Next will be to trim the door channel flange edges to a nominal width. I plan on using Ivan's measurements.
