Today I fabricated new heat duct bypass mounts. The previous rubber exhaust hangers, while fine for the tailpipes, were not rigid enough for the bypass tubes.
Flanges were made, using standard techniques, to conform to the OD of the 2" bypass tube. These flanges were then blind riveted to the tubes. A piece of 063 x 3/4 x 3/4 angle was used as a vertical support. The angle has flanges in to planes thus creating a rigid mount for the tube. The angles were attached to the tube flange using 6-32 hardware.
The mount was the attached to the tailpipe mounting flanges using AN4 hardware.
The end result was a satisfactory rigid mount for the bypass tube ends.
