Brief Description: Fabricate Replacement Fuel Line Retainer Mounts
1530 - 1800
I made the decision to use a braided SS fuel line for the return lines that run from the tunnel wall to the fuselage side bulkhead fitting. Making this change necessitated fabricating replacement fuel line retainer mounts to support the Adel clamp that secures the flexible return line.
The original retainer was traced onto a new piece of 032 sheet.
Original holes were match drilled to the sheet with the corresponding drill or unibit.
A 1" tall web and 3/4" flange were then added to the top of the original mount trace.
Sheet was then sheared and bent with a brake, to form the flange.
The new mount was deburred and all edges smoothed using s/b wheel.
Temporarily install mount with clecos.
Locate and mark for Adell clamp bolt hole.
Remove clecos and drill Adel mount hole using #12 drill, debur hole.
