Locate and drill pilot holes in panel , using #40 drill, for panel camlocs.
Cleco panel, spacers, and hinge to wingtip.
Close panel, center in wingtip hole, match drill doubler for camlocs.
Remove all clecos.
Layout doubler cutout. Verify that location for camlocs does not interfere with tank. This access panel was shifted outboard by 1/4" thus alleviating the clearance issue with the camloc sockets.
Final drill camloc socket holes in doubler using letter R drill. This drill is near an exact fir for the socket so using the shank of the drill in the hole yielded the proper position for the camloc sockets.
Match drill camloc socket mounting holes using #40 drill, cleco as drilled.
Begin sanding seams of wingtip using permagrit tools, 180 s/p.
Layout doubler flange of 3/8" on the sides and 3/4" on the bottom. Scribe uniform radius from sides of doubler cutout, verifying clearance from camloc socket mounting.
Verify cutout will be sufficient to access fuel cap when installed.
Remove cutout using bandsaw.
Debur and smooth all edges and holes.
Machine c-sink all applicable holes in doubler, panel, and wingtip.
Clean and prime access panel parts.
