I wasn't happy that the floating receptacles were raw unprotected ally and I don't want to paint them to avoid corrosion, as this will surely gum them up too much to use! So, I fully disassembled, cleaned in hot detergent, Alumiprep'd and then Alodine'd them all. It was so cold in the shed that the Alodine wouldn't work, but heating some Alodine in a saucepan (not particularly hot) did the trick. If you do this for yourself, keep in mind that Alodine contains heavy metals and that the fumes are toxic ... wear gloves, don't create lots of fumes and don't use the untensils (like my colander) for food preparation! Also keep in mind that rags wet with Alodine should be thoroughly rinsed ... or they may catch fire as they dry out !!
Then I used the larger Skybone template to drill the mounting holes for the SkyBolt fasteners around the upper engine cowl.
