After yesterdays aggravation, I got the calipers out and measured the stacked width of the hroizondal stabilzer attachment bearings and two washers, and compared it with the width of the brackets in which they are to be inserted. The bearing and washer stack was about 20 thousandths too thick with the think and thin washer I had previously selectd. I switched to two sthin washers and had 10 thousandths slop. Surprise--things then slide right in. With a little help from the favorite wife jimmying the stabilator around, I successfully got the bolts in and tightened down. Then I fabricated the anti-servo tabs hinge pins and attached the AST withough much grief--except that I had no safety wire to complete the process.
