My son Dallan will be "in the neighborhood" for the next three or four months--in Instructor Pilot Training in San Antonio Kelly AFB. He came up Saturday afternoon, so I put him to work on the tailcone--he learned how to handle cleco pliers and the pneumatic rivet puller. We riveted the upper skins of the tailcone. After a break we played fumble fingers, attaching the Vertical Stab and rudder--put the horizontal stab in place but decided it was too late to struggle with the bolts for the h-stab hinges.
We cleco-ed the top skin of the tailcone twice--checked the amount of break on the back portion, and decided to increase the break a bit more--looks acceptable to me, but I'll reserve final judgement for the next time the Tech Counselor arrives.
