Brief Description: Priming of all Detail Parts
|
|
After I prepared the parts by Alodining, it was time to apply the aerospace primer. Since our lead Aerospace Painter, Tracy Redmond, offered to assist me, I gladly welcomed his expertise. I chose to use MIL-P-23377 Type I primer. This is a high quality, 2-component, polyurethane compatable epoxy polymide primer. This particular brand of primer sprays very well and also sands easily. Tracy helped mask the parts that required it while I loaded paint carts with all of the various parts. This is where Tracy's experience shows. Unlke myself, he is very familiar with HVLP spray guns, pressure pots, fluid tips, etc. I do plan on painting some smaller parts and applying touch up as needed.
