All the piston cylinders were carefully cleaned and the case and head ends masked for paint. The cyclinders were painted with black engine enamel. The piston rings were checked for gap clearance and top/bottom clearance using a feeler gauge. The results are recorded in the engine log book. The rings were installed on the pistons positioning the gaps as defined in the SPA engine manual.
