When closing the trailing edge of the Left Elevator, using double flush riveting, I set the rivets to 50% using a hand rivet squeezer. Next I turned the elevator over, placing the manufactured rivet heads on the back plate and attempted to finish setting the rivets using a back rivet set. This gave a poor results as the back riveting set left tooling marks on the skin around the shop head. See entry 2 this date for closing the right elevator. The procedure used on the right elevator provided very good results.
