Brief Description:  Horizontal Stabiliser continued

I carried on with some work this arvo, with my wifes help, we made sure the Horizontal stabiliser was square and level, the forward and aft spars were then match drilled to the skin on the underside and opened up from 3/32" to 1/8" on the tip side. I have attached the doubler rings to the inside of the skin for the two inspection panels. Using a pair of straight cut snips I removed the centre section from the leading edge of the skin to allow it to fit over the fuse when the time comes.
There are some holes in this area that need 1/8" 120 degree dimples to the skin and some ribs as well, countersinks will need to be drilled on the spar, but that will have to wait till the hand squeezer arrives from the USA. So using the removed piece of skin material I have put a dimple through a 1/8" hole using a light tap with a small hammer to allow me to set the micro-stop for the counter sink bit correctly. I’ll use this material again when the hand squeezer arrives to practice and check again. Next plan of attack will be to finish de-burring the holes on the spar, mark with a sharpie the holes that need to be dimpled and the ones on the spar that need counter sinking and locate all the parts for the skin attachment.
I am also considering using some Click Bond products for the attachment of the inspection panels. More on that later.
