Brief Description:  Riveted Wing Skins

Derek 8.0 Phil 8.0

After attending pancake breakfast at McGregor EAA, we returned to Temple for lunch. Spent 30 minutes at Whataburger for lunch and filled out applications for registering the Onex. Phil is gong to get it notarized on Monday and send it off to OKC.

1st thing we did was to move the mounting location of the master solenoid to a higher location. Still close to the battery box but less likely to have a run in with the gascolator!!

Decided to go ahead and finish closing up the wings by riveting the top skins. Started with the left wing. Opened it up and did one final inspection and blew out FOD and shrapnel. Taped one of the conduits for the wiring and tightned up a few bolts and applied torque seal. Spent several hours riveting the wing skins.

Opened up the packaging and the instructions for the dial-o-speed. Phil started fabricating the parts need for that installation while Derek installed the left aileron for the final installation. Riveted aileron in place and adjusted the push rods to rough neutral adjustment. Final adjustment will come later when other aileron is in place.

Phil did some more fabricating and sanding on the engine cowling.

Decided to take a break and pulled it out in the driveway and have a margarita. Got a lot done today!
