Today I disassembled right flap and deburred all match drilled holes.
I also positioned and match drilled the reinforcement plates FL701A,B to the spar and inboard rib
Since I am building the flaps before completing the wing I was not sure if I should attempt to position and drill the flap hinge...but I did. The drawing has a note that the edge distance is 1/4 inch but to adjust as necessary to make sure that the flap and aileron trailing edge are aligned.
I transferred the scaled drawing measurement to the flap hinge and clamped the hinge in position. I temporarily installed the aileron and with the help of my daughter, placed the flap in position to check trailing edge alignment…and it was pretty close. In the end the edge distance I used is 13/64. Minimum edge distance is 3/16 ( 12/64).
