In the last week I have been battling with rivetting the R1203 ribs to teh R1202 rear spar through the spar caps R1204. When ever I squeeze the rivets through the rivets would expand between the rear spar and the rib and not only above the rib.
I posted to VAF and got the solution to use a piece of viynl tubing over the rivet. this would apply downward pressure to the rib before the rivert gets squeezed. I had to drill out several rivets and using my cordless drill was not as easy. So I ordered an small airdrill.
The airdrill cames last Fridsay and today I started using the vyinl tube. it took me several time to get the length of the tube correct resulting in several rivets that needed to be drilled out. This caused the original #30 holes to get widened. Secondly with I had this rivet go crooked all the time. So I decided to stop here and reorder the parts as the holes just got too big. $32 for the pieces should be here by the end of the week.
