Second job today was removing the blanking plate between the fuel servo and engine, and bolting back in place with the proper gaskets.
Since I've installed an extra bracket between the servo and the engine (to hold the throttle and mixture cables), then I also had to install an extra gasket. I'd already made one up a couple months ago.
I applied oil to both sides of each gasket before installing (to help pull it apart later if necessary), then bolted in pplace with star washers. Job done. I just need to now be aware that there is a direct airway into the engine, and as such must keep an eye on the silica gel canisters installed into the top spark plug holes. Perhaps I also need to plug the air intake somehow.
