Brief Description:  2: Body Work

During the course of rivetting I've ended up with a few spots that need a little filler, due to slight depressions in the skin surface from the rivet gun. This plane will never be "show car" finish, but there are some blemishes that I think can be made better.

I mixed up a small amount of resin/flox and applied to the low spots. Once it had hardened (the next day) I then sanded back smooth with my little air sander. I started with 120 grit, then worked my down through 180, 240, 600, 1200 and finally 2000 grit for an ultra smooth finish.

The little pneumatic sander makes life very easy. 2" diameter sanding pads simply stick on with velcro. I bought a whole heap from ebay, might have to buy some more.
