I finished the day off today by installing the rear-most row of rivets on the tail section skin. These were not accessible with the vertical stabiliser in place, so while I've got it removed I thought I'd get this job crossed off the list.
No real complications here, although I did decide to install rivets one size longer than called for in the plans. The nominated length rivets just didn't seem to form very well, but with a size longer then the shop heads were quite good.
The standard design rudder stops would also normally form part of this excercise, however since I fitted the Flyboys internal rudder stop, then I left the standard stops off.
That was four more small jobs done today - the elephant is getting eaten!
