Just 35C out here today, so a good day to get back into the shed for some plane building. Today I got the seat backs nearly finished. These sure have taken a lot longer to build than I thought.
I match drilled all the parts for the second seat, then alodined all the smaller pieces. The two larger seat back panels I simply rubbed back lightly with a scotchbrite pad, and then primed with an acid etch primer. The other alodined parts I sprayed with epoxy primer.
Once the paint had dried, which didn't take long today, then I started riveting the pieces together. The hinge piece on the back of one seat hasn't settled properly. I riveted both ends first which seems to have pulled the hinge piece inward, causing it to bow significantly. I'll fix this up before progressing any further, but perhaps another day. For now I'm calling stumps.
