Brief Description:  Rudder and Elevator Tips

Some more time spent today on the rudder and elevator tips.

On the rudder, I made up a balsa wood insert to close off the open end, and then mixed up some fibreglass resin and glued it in place.

While I had some resin mixed up I also applied some more to one of the elevator tips that needed it (no pictures). Once set hard then I'll sand both parts smooth.

I really do not enjoy anything to do with fibreglass or resin.

While pondering what else there is left to do until the finish kit arrives, I realised I still have the parts for the filtered air box to attend to. I unwrapped and laid all the parts out on the bench, and started reading up on how to assemble. This is very confusing, as Vans have not addressed very well at all the fact that the IO-320 engine uses the same vertical induction arrangement as a carburetted O-360, so you have to "read into" the instructions a lot. By their own admission, the instrucitons are confusing.......awesome!

I'm going to read up a bit more before jumping into this.
