I continued today troubleshooting my issues with the fuel tank level sensors and, after multiple checks with the sensors out of the tank, I eventually realised that the floats are not responding to fuel being added due simply to friction int he movement. All I needed to do was rock the wings each time I added five litres and the gauge would respond accordingly.
So after all that, today I got the right fuel tank calibrated. With fuel sensor voltages recorded with every five litres added I could then plot a curve of volts-versus-litres on a spreadhseet. From this I can then see that a couple of my readings may need adjusting later.
Anyway, I'm happy now that I can continue with setting up the fuel system.
