While rummaging through my large pile of documents I came across a letter from Vans advising that the bolts attaching both fuel tanks to the wing spars need to be inspected to verify that they are actually in place, and correctly torqued. Apparently the bolts are not necessarily all installed on some QB kits. I was pretty sure that I'd already ensured all was good, however I couldn't find anywhere where I'd documented doing this. Only one thing for it, go in through the inspection panels and check.
No suprises, I found all bolts in place, and of those that I could get a torque wrench onto, all were done up to 25-in.lb. All good.
I decided to mark up my copy of the Vans letter as a record. Should have done this a few years ago when I first checked.
