Some more work today finishing off the left wing root fairing. Am quite pleased with how it's ended up. On the underside I did add a slight fold in the fairing, just to help hold it tight against the fuselage skin. Check the third picture below, you can see my fold line in blue.
Oh yeah, I also needed to come up with a way for the very end fixing. I could not add a platenut here as there's no access to the inside surface, so instead I put in a rivenut. These are a good alternative, however they end up sitting slightly proud of the surface. To counter this, I enlarged the hole in the fairing so it fits around the outside of the rivenut, then added a large washer under the screw head. Seems to work.
