Sanding, sanding, sanding, over the course of the past few days, and the windscreen fibreglass surround is starting to look the part.
I've been carefully sanding back the fibreglass lay-up to the level of the masking tape (applied in three layers) so that when the tape is pulled away I'm left with a nice neat edge. That's the theory. In practice the edge is "okay", and in the process of sanding I've worn down the fibreglass (which is actually carbon fibre) is some spots to the extent that I can see through it. I always needed to apply a layer of resin to smooth the finish, so I guess I'll also colour it black to help fix the "see-thru" effect.
I really do not like this part of the build. It's so painstakingly slow.
