Brief Description:  1: Sliding Cockpit Rail

Another new apprentice was inducted today into the hallowed realms of Roxby Downs Aeroplane Co. workers when neice Hannah McBain took to the torque wrench inside the intimate spaces of Miss Tango's rear fusleage.

The task at hand was final installation of the rear guide rail for the sliding canopy.

After an intial briefing on the task specifics, then subsequent training on the installation of nyloc nuts, as well as hands-on competency-based training on the use of a torque wrench (gee, these trainers at RDAC are very thorough), apprentice Hannah was sent into the well-padded fuselage section armed with her newly found skills and tools of trade.

I had the simple job of drilling screw holes from the outside. Apprentice Hannah then deburred the holes, fitted nuts and washers, and deftly applied the torque wrench.

Final result......... a job well done.

Roxby Downs Aeroplane Co. now has a new cohort.
