A few hours this arvo working on the engine throttle linkage. I managed to find a bracket amongst my few remaining parts that is used to fix the throttle and mixture control cables in place (at the throttle body end). My excitement over this find was somewhat subdued, however, when I installed it and note that it's not quite the correct alignment for my engine configuration. Oh well, I'm gonna make it work all the same.
With the bracket mounted up between the engine air intake and throttle body I first connected in the throttle control cable. The bracket tab needed bending down a little, and I also "clocked" the linkage arm around one notch, to make it all line up. Seems to work quite well.
The mixture cable is another matter though. It's quite clearly too short, and will not reach the linkage arm. I contemplated spending time making up an extension piece, but decided to do the job properly and order a longer mixture cable. I'll see if I can't sell the short one on facebook.
I also fitted the alternator mounting bracket today as well.
